Mini V Pre-School is a nurturing, happy, twice rated Outstanding by Ofsted Pre-School in Poynton.

We are looking for a level 3 qualified practitioner to work in our friendly, two room term time Pre School. At Mini V Pre-School we recognize how important our staff are at ensuring that every child is happy, confident, nurtured and equipped with the life skills to support future learning. This is an exciting opportunity to join a happy Pre-School where we focus on encouraging children to be children, learning through play and curiosity. You will be working with a dedicated team in a caring, family friendly environment which is inviting to children, parents and staff.

We are open from 9 o’clock until 3 o’clock, but also offer a wrap around care before and after school club.

It is important to us that you are passionate about working with young children and you must have a caring and nurturing nature to support individual children's emotional well-being, with the drive to develop children's learning, development and experiences.


Duties include the following:

· Adhere to all company policies & procedures

· Be a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.

· Promote equal opportunities throughout the nursery.

· Liaise with the local authority and other professionals associated with the nursery.

· Work alongside parents/carers of children with special needs to achieve full integration within the nursery and support & include children with special needs in all areas of care and development.

· Liaise with and support parents, carers and other family members.

· Support all staff and promote a happy staff team.

· Take all practical and reasonable steps to ensure the safety & wellbeing of all who use the premises.

· Maintain high levels of confidentiality at all times, including company business and any information regarding children or parents.

· At all times abide by the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and guidelines as laid down by OFSTED and the local authority.

· Interact with children positively at all times, encouraging appropriate behaviour, social skills and hygiene routines.

· Undertake certain domestic duties within the nursery i.e. general cleaning and laundry duties when required.

· Attend and participate during regular parents’ evenings and staff meetings outside normal working hours.

· Undertake and participate in a wide variety of training programmes, attend and participate in personal development programmes and appraisals

· Remain flexible with regard to cover within the nursery, especially during busy periods and contribute as a team member.

· Lead by example and act as a role model to all staff, students, and volunteers supporting their individual training requirements.


Essential Skills Required

· A minimum of a full and relevant level 3 childcare qualification

· Knowledge of the 2021 Early Years Foundation Stage framework

Please note health & social care and teaching & learning qualifications are not considered 'full & relevant' for early years.


Desirable Skills

· A Paediatric First Aid Certificate

· Experience of observing, assessing and planning for children’s learning & development

· Higher Early Years qualification
